Applicants for the Model United Nations Team undergo a 2-step process:
Written Application
The written application will overview general information, previous public speaking and group experience and availability. The remainder of the application will be a short, no more than, 2 page essay that articulates the position of a given Member State on one of three topics provided, as well as, their efforts for said topic on a national and international level. Applicants will submit this packet along with a resume by a given due date, where it will be reviewed by the officer corps.
Interview
Upon review of the written application the officers will invite certain candidates to an in-person interview the week following the application deadline. Candidates will be asked general questions regarding themselves and their application, but the majority of the interview will consist of a simulation where the candidate will take on the role of a Member State representative in a given real-life conflict. The candidates will be briefed on the conflict and the Member State assigned. Applicants should independently research the positions and issues of the scenario. After the interviews are completed, candidates may be offered places on the team.
